Our hotel : a unique place in a special location Only few steps from the Luxembourg Gardens and the Place Saint Sulpice, at number 15 rue de La Grande Chaumière, a small quiet street. Our twenty-room hotel is full of character and was completely renovated in 2006 by Vincent Bastie ; we offer you warm and elegant surroundings. Each room, each suite has its own special atmosphere inspired by creative art, in an Art Deco or classical style, equipped with all the latest features (WIFI, Video On Demand, Music On Demand, Internet, flat-screen LCD TV including international stations). In the spacious reception area, next to the library, around the fireplace, we offer you all the quality and availability of traditionally fine service : a bar, concierge, reservations for tours to suit your requirements (culture, gastronomy, shopping, and so on), as well as a golf course, treatments at the Turkish baths. In our home cinema room, you can watch videos by great performers.

Life around the Hotel. Our hotel is in the heart of the famous, lively district that was once the home of artists and writers who gave it its character. It is the ideal place from which to enjoy Parisian life on the Left Bank. There is the Boulevard Saint Germain with its boutiques and art galleries, not forgetting its many legendary restaurants such as La Coupole, Le Dôme and La Closerie des Lilas… If you like modern art, we are only a few steps from the Fondation Cartier for Contemporary Art. Despite the bustling artistic life of the district, the rue de la Grande Chaumière is a quiet little thoroughfare located at the point where the Boulevard Montparnasse crosses the Boulevard Raspail, a few steps away from the Coupole, the Dôme and the Rotonde, those famous Parisian brasseries. Gauguin and Modigliani lived on this street. The Hotel des Académies et des Arts has borne this name since the early twentieth century thanks to the many academies of painting that contributed and continue to contribute to the artistic life of the neighbourhood : the Académie de La Grande Chaumière, Académie Colarossi, Académie Fernand Léger, Académie Lhote, Académie Matisse, Académie Ranson, Académie Russe and the Académie Vassilief.
